Whether you’re coming to Atlanta this fall on a work trip or a well-deserved vacation, we hope you’ll choose the Courtland Grand Hotel for your stylish and comfortable accommodations. Our Downtown Atlanta hotel, part of the Trademark Collection by Wyndham, provides a fine launchpad for taking in all that the season has to offer in one of America’s great cities: from outdoor recreation to fall festivals.
Given November’s knocking at the door, we figured we’d spotlight a few happenings and activities that upcoming month tempts with.
Festivals in Atlanta in November
The fall calendar is packed to the gills with festivals and concerts in Atlanta. Sure, many of the most prominent are already in the rearview mirror: the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival, the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival, ONE Musicfest, etc. (though we’d say that’s also more than enough reason to start planning your Fall 2024 getaway at the Courtland Grand!). But there are also some great events in November, no question, and we’d love to host you for them.
Take, for example, the Native American Festival & Pow Wow at Stone Mountain Park, an easy drive from Downtown Atlanta. Held this year from Thursday, November 2nd through Sunday, November 5th, running 9 AM to 3 PM each day, this wonderful event celebrates the indigenous diversity and culture of the Americas, anchored by an intertribal dance and drum competition involving Native contestants from a broad swath of the U.S. and beyond.
The Native American Festival & Pow Wow will also feature plenty of other attractions, not least demonstrations of such traditional skills as fire-starting, pottery, bow-making, and flint-knapping, plus an artists’ marketplace.
If you’ll be in town for that festival, consider also working your way over to the historic Cabbagetown neighborhood on Atlanta’s east side for the 2023 Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp, going down from 11 AM to 6 PM on Saturday, November 4th. This yearly neighborhood fundraiser, which goes to support city parks and other community resources, delights with vast quantities of chili as well as beer and other cold refreshments, some great live music, and the Romp & Stomp 5k.
November Leaf-Peeping in Atlanta
In our preceding blogpost on fall activities to enjoy on a Courtland Grand stay, we talked up Greater Atlanta’s surprisingly rich “leaf-peeping” opportunities, and they’re worth talking up again, given autumn foliage around these parts often peaks in early November, with handsome fall colors typically extending into the middle of the month.
From Piedmont Park to the Lullwater Preserve on the Emory University campus, you’ve got plenty of nearby in-town options for enjoying Mother Nature’s seasonal show.
